In a recent release, the researchers found that the EXTEMPORE implants used in angioplasty or nose surgery is as safe and less expensive than natural tissue grafts.
This information is no surprise that many angioplasty patients and their plastic surgeons.
The study was conducted by a group of researchers from the University of Toronto and examined over 500 patients over a period of 17 years. According to the results, Gr-Tex implants in thicknesses up to 10 mm showed "excellent stability and tissue tolerance" and "should be strongly considered major and minor corrections of the nasal wall and bridge in properly selected patients."
In fact, only 1.9 percent of all case studies in the research required subsequent removal of the EXTEMPORE implant due to infection, inflammation, and displacement of the implant.
Benefits of angioplasty
No matter what type of implant is used in all cases, angioplasty can be a great way to increase your self-confidence, correct injuries to the nose and associated respiratory problems, or just give well-shaped nose you've always wanted .
Nose jobs are very safe and very popular with over half a million procedures occurring in the United States each year. Most people are good candidates for angioplasty, as long as you have realistic expectations about the results of surgery and have reached an age when the nose has basically stopped growing.
After being given anesthesia, the surgeon makes small incisions inside the nose to reach the underlying bone and cartilage. Then, based on the plan and discuss preferences with the surgeon, he or she reshape the nose by removing bone, implant placement bridge or tip, or removing part of the cartilage at the tip.
Different ethnic groups often request changes only, so that Asian patients tend to have implants bridges, while the Afro-descendant patients often want more little tips and nostrils. Caucasians frequently call for the elimination of protrusions on the bridge or a decrease in the height of the bridge.
After the incisions are sutured, will go home with a splint that covers your nose. This will protect the new form during the healing process. You may also have to keep gauze or nasal supports up his nostrils for several days with the same purpose.
There may be some swelling, bruising, and discoloration of the nose and face during the first days after surgery. Any pain can be controlled with medications prescribed by your surgeon. All normal physical activities can usually be resumed after a few weeks after angioplasty, although you may be able to return to work after only a few days if you feel up to it.
Other useful procedures
Many cosmetic surgery patients find it easy and attractive for other procedures performed at the time of rhinoplasty, or shortly thereafter. These often include facelifts to remove excess facial skin to achieve a softer look harder.
Eye-lifts are also popular because they can help reduce the appearance of wrinkles around the star of the face. If you are interested in a facelift, eye lift, or any number of other cosmetic surgery, be sure to talk to your doctor about the possibility of combining their procedures in one operation
